I forewent my scheduled Wednesday night party and treated Mary to extra rasquitas instead. It seemed to calm her.

Mary had a rough night, nevertheless. We missed Marion's birthday breakfast at Huddle House this morning.

For our lunch today, she heated up the last two Salvadoran tamales and fried some plantain. We had planned to restock groceries yesterday at Wal-Mart.

The office door to the garage opens on its own now. We have to stop it with a box of books. That, together with Mary's gripe and the scooter's current unreliability, made enjoyment of the fine weather problematical.

Mary prepared us afternoon coffees. Must be feeling better.

I risked a little outing, careful not to get to far from the house with the Pacesaver. Mary's in no shape to make distant rescue expeditions. I decided make a study of wild violets. Now's the time, before the little fellows are overwhelmed by other flowers.

    Violets in the shade.

    A violet in full sunlight.

I've found a place in Nashville where I can get the Pacesaver worked on. Mary has called Marcelino about the door. She coughs and sneezes less. Things are looking up.

    74.4 °F, clear. (City)
