Partied with Daniel Barenboim last night. Beethoven Sonata N° 29 'Hammerklavier' on YouTube.
Balmy, but overcast most of today.
After Mary returned from mass, we had Progresso and Campbell's soups for lunch.
I avoided the house most of the afternoon. Too somber inside. Noted that our Iris opened their first blooms today.
First iris of the season.
Narcissus surprised me, displaying their first flowers also.
My first Narcissus of the year: Sony Watercolor effect.
The Dahlias have taken well to their new home, opening new buds.

Stayed out as long as I could. Brisk winds don't go well with short sleeves.
Mary's cough hangs on. She begged off keeping Leah tomorrow.
71.3 °F, clear.

Gorgeous flowers!
Our Daffodils opened up this morning. Haven't seen any other flowers.
And I bought four Brussels Sprouts plants yesterday. I feel like I should be embarrassed by my total excitement to begin growing Brussels Sprouts, but I'm not at all!
I wish my flowers were blooming. The daffodils are up about 4 inches - no buds yet. I doubt that they will bloom by Easter... We had a beautiful day today but it is dropping to a high in the low 40s tomorrow with the possibility of snow flurries! I'm so sick of winter!!
Marica0701 - I love the sprout. Perhaps I can get my husband to include them this year!!
I saw the first dove of the season a few days ago. They're always a welcome sight.
You are providing me with a fine education about annuals. Healing prayer for your dear wife.
Such beautiful flowers, and I love the watercolor effect! Praying for Mary to get well.
flowers ~ oh when shall we have flowers around here?? beautiful!
Continued prayers for Mary's cough.
iris are nice, and come in a vast array of color combinations. My mother had several iris beds in our yard, with dozens of variety. She always had a green thumb with just about any plant, but the iris seemed to remain her favorite. If she saw a house with a color she didn't yet own, she would not be too shy to stop, knock on their door and ask if she could buy a bulb. Most would say of course, knowing they return, grow and flourish the next year, as long as one bulb is there to start.
We have crocuses. Er, had them till it started snowing again.
Praying for Mary's relief.
pretty flowers!
