  • shriveled

Mary was entertained early by two gobblers out back in a bloody fight over a turkey hen.

Mary removed a tarp that mysteriously appeared yesterday evening covering the tomato plants. Against the expected 30 °F? George? The plants are shriveled now, dead apparently.

More of the chicken for lunch today, with okra pickles, corn on the cob and a mix of snap peas, carrots, black beans, barley, corn and red bell pepper.

Mary spotted George outside looking over the wilted tomato plants.

Anna dropped by with Leah on the golf cart. Wanted to see how Mary was doing.

Mary and I watched Red Lights (2004) from Netflix. French, with English subtitles. A meek family man goes bad after too many drinks. A thriller deliciously played out in the French manner.

After taking the movie to the mailbox, I spotted the golf cart abandoned on the woods path. Mary, worried, had me make inquiries. Turns out it just quit on Anna who then walked home with Leah on her shoulders.

    53.7 °F , clear.

  • Batterie sometimes do that - usually without warning! I hope the plants bounce back with a little sun and rain (and hopefully warmer temps). French films can be refreshing to the high octane of American action films...

  • Too bad you didn't get pictures of the turkeys fighting :)

  • I hope the tomatoes will come back with a little water and some TLC (and maybe aa conversation with George?)!

  • By the way do you speak a littke French or hear it ?

53.7 is a nice crisp morning. I hear it's headed up from there today here. Hope you have a wonderful week-end!

PS - About your comment. Some people vote after they are dead. Just can't shut up, can they? Hehehe. :-)

  • that is funny and chime in all you want.

sounds like life happens to you,too

  • Yikes, hope your tomato plants miraculously recover.

We're hoping that we can plant our tomato and Brussels Sprouts plants next week. Fingers crossed that we don't get a freak cold snap like what we got this week.

  • Your photos of food are amazing---compared to mine. lol

  • I don' t think I could comfortably fight, though my mother says she grew up on a farm and would watch the turkey run around a bit even aftere it's head was whacked off. Eww!
I am glad that Anna And Leah got home safely.

  • I dislike cooking, but am thinking it must be quite an adventure for you folks ~ always looks amazing ~

  • I had never heard of okra pickles, then both you write about them, and they serve some at the chuch dinner. What a coincidence. Perhaps I should've tried one, but I didn't.

  • Oh my... that plate of food looks so good!
