  • stubborn patience

At first, I thought I might be over the bronchitis today.

George drove up with Leah in the golf cart while I was at the outpost. She ambled up to the house to entertain Mary, leaving me and George to talk a while. I talked too much. It roused up my cough.

Chicken breast for my lunch, with sweet peas, carrots and corn on the cob.

Deborah came by to check the mower battery. Just then, the technician from Medical Necessities arrived with my new nebulizer.

From what Deborah tells me, I can't see Mother living alone a year from now. She's lost the will to get out of bed on her own. Has stopped walking outside. Tries to get Deborah to bring her meals to her. Only Deborah's stubborn patience keeps Mother going.

    I spent more time outside.

    58.1 °F, rain.

  • Hmm, I just responded to another post of yours and then this one pops up although it says it was written hours ago. I am sorry to hear you still are not feeling well. I am glad you got some outside time, and your lunches still look yummy.

  • My mother is 82 and living on her own. I am often worried that she doesn't have one of us nearby should she need help. I'm the closest at 3 hours away! It is good that your mother has Deborah to nudge her into activity. I hope you are feeling better soon and that the weather continues to improve so you can get more outside time...

  • Yum, that plate!

So if/when your mother can't live on her own, where would she possibly go? But it's good that she has Deborah helping her along.

  • another beautiful meal ~ watching parents age is so difficult ~ my mother just moved into assisted living ~ she loves it!

  • Yummy! I love the ratio of 3:1 (veg:meat), & the more colorful the plate, the better!
I hope you feel better soon.
It's hard indeed to see parents aging. I'm thankful that my mom was able to move in with us this past Sept.
