Posted Mother's bank statement last night. Room for improvement.

Partied with Miles Davis, album Cookin' on YouTube. Sweet.

More of Mary's soup for lunch today.

This evening, I accompanied Mary to St. John's for a First Communion service. We were invited by niece Andrea. Her step-daughter, Mary Warf, was to be one of the participants.

Father William has difficulty holding the attention of the young First Communionists. Mary Warf is the blond.

Deborah called to report on her Rachel's graduation ceremony in Pulaski. It's been a long struggle getting there.

All day, my system has been near the point of shaking off the bronchitis, but victory remains illusive.

For several days, Mary has had to deal with a right hip that seems to slip out of alignment.

Many more complaints of lesser import. Achaques de la vejez. Thus it is with old folks.

    58.7 °F, clear.

  • Wow, so young for First Communion. My First Communion was in fifth grade and even then I thought I was a bit young. I feel like one needs to be a bit older and more mature to be able to really understand what Communion is all about.

Yikes. Stupid bronchitis, and I hope Mary's hip gets better.

  • Growing old is not for sissies. Nonetheless, I wish you all the best in both of your recoveries.

  • get well soon ~ spring makes us want to feel well even more, doesn't it? Blessings ~

  • they are all so sweet.
I asked my mom once how come I looked so young and my sisters looked older and she did, too?
She said in 1958 or so they changed it from 12yr old to 7 years old. I'm glad I asked.

  • I showed the photo to my daughter--she agrees--the girls in white are adorable. Very nice to have children do that.

  • Cookin is a damn fine album. I noticed Kind of Blue is available in youtube too. Great, but too bad we don't have these in high fidelity.

  • Today was 1st Communion here too. There were about 40 second graders! That is a lot of kids to wrangle into line and keep focused! (I'm glad I didn't have that job) Bronchitis does seem to be hard to shake. I'm hoping your immune system can get the upper hand!

  • Little girls in white dresses and tiaras, almost like little brides... Well, we are considered brides of Christ, so cute.
