[Fri]
George came early for more keys to #2 warehouse. Brought us more eggs from his hens.
Cheerios with blueberries for breakfast.
(Grabbed off the internet.)
Mary and I fetched Mother and brought her here. Niece Andrea is in Las Vegas and brother Marion had a doctor's appointment, but we would still have a threesome for lunch and cards.
Deborah came to tell me Verizon had blocked Mother's cell phone for non-payment. Apparently my trip to Columbia had been for naught.
Mary and I ate bowtie pasta with shrimp for lunch. Mother had a chicken pot pie. Apple, pear and grape appetizers.
I cut the card game short at an hour, so there'd be enough time to deal with Verizon again in Columbia.
Took longer than expected, but Jeremiah was helpful, to a point. I had to pony up $101.75 in green to get Mother's phone unblocked and will have to continue paying her bill with cash for six months. She will then be eligible again for automatic bank drafts.
Marion called with good news. Examinations showed he didn't have glaucoma.
Back in town, I dropped Mother at her house and headed home. Wasn't such a bad afternoon. Felt pretty good actually. Got out of the house and my mind had been diverted several hours from my own problems. Need more of that.
Mary made me an egg (George's) and (Ball Park) wiener sandwich for supper. Mmmm. Apple and red grapes on the side.

I'm glad the phone problem is solved, but there may be another problem ~ I can't see the picture on your post this time ~ ??? so sorry, because I bet it is delicious food again ~ or maybe it is eggs from the hens?
NOW I can see it!
and it wasn't eggs or your lunch, but breakfast ~ I love blueberries ~
So good news all around! I'm so glad Marion doesn't have glaucoma - both my grandmothers had it and it was no fun... I have never heard of a egg and hotdog sandwich! I might have to give it a try when Sparky isn't around. He has some odd phobia about eggs on bread/toast. He must have had a bad experience as a child.
Glad you had some diversion for a few hours! And it's good that you were able to get the phone problems resolved -- your mom needs that phone!
It is somehow always gratifying to settle a bill, even an exorbitant one. Glad your afternoon went nicely.
You are right : keeping oneself busy helps for health .
Glad also for Marion.

Shrimp sounds good too. I have some in the freezer. Perhaps I shall cook them tomorrow.
Happy for Marion, and that you were able to fix your mother's phone situation. Glad that it was a good afternoon overall for you. I wish you many more of those.
My wife would be suicidal if her phone service was blocked---glad you got it fixed. Money fixes lots of things as a VP used to tell me.

Fresh eggs sound wonderful. And I should try to make Cheerios and blueberries a part of my breakfast at least once this coming week.
Have a good weekend.
