    Anna brought Leah, as usual.

For lunch we had tilapia and yuca (cassava) seared to perfection, stewed butternut squash and steamed asparagus. Guava juice on the side. Apple and black grape appetizers. Yum! But for the calories, I would have gladly had seconds.

When niece Denise came for Leah, she told me my dentist, Dr. Rector, died early this morning when his bicycle was struck by a car. His son is still in the hospital after losing an arm and leg in a motorcycle accident. He's out of coma, but has lost his memory. My heart goes out to both Mrs. Rectors.

    43.2 °F, rain.

  • Sweet clementine for a sweet girl. My condolences to the Rector family, and may the younger man gradually recover.

  • Oh my, how very sad! :( Precious pics of Leah ~ and the asparagus looks yummy!

  • I have to echo fwren - this is so sad that tragedy has been dealt such a double blow to the Rector family! Leah's enjoyment of the citrus is captured perfectly! Is cassava high in fiber? Is it starchy?? I'm toying with trying that and taro...

  • That is a sad one!!! I am sorry to hear that---and the son!!!

  • Utterly precious and angelic pictures of Leah!

Prayers go up for your denstist and his son, for both their healing and strength to handle this emotionally.

  • Seared tilapia - I'll have to try doing that the next time I eat tilapia!

Oh wow, the Rectors :( And I hope that the son can heal soon.

  • So sad news ! sad fate .
