Marion made it out today. :-)

Chicken noodle soup for lunch. Mother ate all of hers. :-)

Mother was unusually alert for cards. Marion's presence brings out her best it seems.

Mary and I needed to deposit checks. So, after cards, we took Mother and Marion home, stopping at First Farmers and First National on the way.

Back home, we watched Born to Raise Hell (2010) from Netflix. Steven Seagal gone to pot. Belly, that is.

    119 lbs.

    65.9 °F, clear.

  • Yay for Marion and Mother!! It is a good thing that they were able to get over and play cards!! I've never been a Steven Seagal fan - He has not aged well.

  • Soup and cards, sounds like a lovely afternoon. I enjoy both.
I'm glad Marion returned and that your mother was happy and doing well.

  • What kind of card game? We played Michigan Rummy with my mother this evening ~ she loves to play cards ~

  • Whew, glad your mother seemed good today! :)

RYC: I guess it's getting a bit warm for cardigans here but if I'm going to wear those dresses to my grandmother's church then I need to cover my upper arms and my back (the tattoo). Besides, I'm covered up a lot anyway as I always am, so cardigans are a part of my wardrobe on Sundays even in the dead heat of the summer.

  • I'm so glad your mom did well at cards -- that has to be reassuring!

  • Pot and pot. LOL

yes, your mom looks good. My mom got chocolate the other day so today I'm taking her soft granola type breakfast bars and treats for her kitty and dry cat food, too.

My mom is losing it but she's more alert when her cat is with her. I think she forgets she has 8 kids but the mother comes out of her all the time. She feel out of bed cause she hurt some kids playing down the hall at the nursing home and she meant to put them to bed. She has a gymnastic pad next to her low low bed there because of things like this. the nurses laughed cause they said,"she was hearing things cause their doors are locked at 9pm even for visitors.

  • I guess card games are good for brain health. The notice nuns in Europe have less incidence of dementia and Alzheimer. They discovered the life of many Nuns in the afternoons is boring so they play crossword puzzles a lot. They tried to make a connection from game playing to a healthy brain. Sounds good.

  • I think that is great that she's that with it -my mom's neighbor who I would visit at the nursing home here in town died two weeks before her 97th birthday.
My mom is a nursing home in Ft.Worth close to two siblings there.
    she's 88.

  • Happy Mother's Day to Mary, and to your mother.
